John Ovid Lynch
Canandaigua- John Ovid Lynch, 65, of Stewart Place, passed away suddenly March 23, 2012 at his home.
Originally from Elmira, NY, John moved his family to Canandaigua in 1971, while serving as the City Assessor. Shortly after he moved his career to Geneva, NY to serve as the Geneva City Assessor for the next 30 years, while serving the Canandaigua community as a volunteer on the Canandaigua Emergency Squad, Erina Hose Fire Company (to which he is a lifetime member), Coach for Little League, a volunteer at FF Thompson Hospital, a Board Member on the NYS Board of Assessors, and an Instructor for the Assessor program at Cornell University. He will be remembered for his service and contributions to his community. He will be so very missed.
John is survived by his children; Marcia Lynch, Allan (Susan) Lynch, grandchildren; Eva, John, Brycen, Camren, and Shelby, brothers; Charles Lynch, Milton (Sandy) Lynch, Wayne (Debbie) Lynch, sisters; Azubah (Jim) Rice, Lynn (Jim) Kellogg.
John was predeceased by; his parents Harry and Vivian (Little) Lynch, Uncle Foster Little, and sister-in-law Sharon Lynch.
The family invites friends to call Tuesday March 27 from 4-7 pm at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira, will be held at the convenience of the family.
In honor of John’s service, memorial contributions can be directed to F.F. Thompson Hospital 360 Parrish St. Canandaigua, NY 14424.
