ROBERT K. DRAYN

BRISTOL: Robert Drayn, 85, a lifelong Bristol resident died Friday, May 4, 2012 at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Bob was born in Bristol on September 24, 1926 to the late Emory and Helen (Barnes) Drayn. He attended Honeoye School and owned and operated Drayn Excavating since 1954. The consummate outdoorsman and expert deer hunter, Bob loved hunting deer in Bristol and from his hunting camp in the Adirondack Mountains. He and his wife, Betty, wintered in Orange City, Florida for several years.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Betty Jean (Jones) Drayn, Bristol; his son and daughter-in-law Robert and Stephanie Drayn, Bristol and his daughter and son-in-law Linda and Robert Clark, Hilton Head, SC; his daughter-in-law Lorraine (Gary) Reed, Canandaigua and his sister and brother-in-law Betty and Phil Gladding, Bristol. Bob was especially proud of his grandchildren, Jeremy (Tamra) Clark, Brynne (Jason) Clark, Ryan Clark, Benjamin Drayn, Trevor Drayn and Kristen Drayn and his great grandchildren Cassidy Clark, Gavin Clark and Ashtynn Clark. He will be missed by his faithful companion Jodi. Bob was preceded in death by his son Gregory and his sister Doris Simmons.

At Bob's request there will be no prior calling hours. A celebration of his life will be held at the United Church of Bristol, Saturday morning at 11:00 with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the United Chuch of Bristol, 7177 County Road 2, Bloomfield, NY 14469 or to the Evergreen Cemetery Association at the same mailing address.
