Stewart & Marian Metsinger
Dear Mrs. Cherry,
Stewart turned 88 today, and because of the heat did not feel like going out, but he has been talking about George and how sorry he is about his passing. The last time he saw George was at Mike Morrisey's calling hours. Stewart knew George before he was old enough to drive a car, and used to pick him up on Whalen road and take him to town. George used to help out Stewart's Father on the farm now and then. Stewart always wanted to go to see his horses, but somehow if you don't stop and do something, it can be too late.
You have our sympathy.

Uncle George,
You were born on the day George Washington was born, hence your middle name Washington. He cut down the cherry tree, hence your last name Cherry. Your parents were thinking when they named you, that is for sure!
I will missed you dearly! Our walks to your barn in Centerfield when I was a little girl were always a highlight of my coming and staying with you and Aunt Dorothy!!! The way that you were always joking and laughing with me!
Thank you for everything, you were a GREAT Uncle and will ALWAYS be remembered fondly!
My thoughts are with Aunt Dorothy! Will always love and miss you!
