Obituary of Michael W. Haley

Michael W. Haley, Shortsville, NY, beloved Husband, Father, Brother and Friend, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, surrounded by his family at House of John, Clifton Springs NY. Michael is survived by his wife, Terri (Mead) Haley; daughters, Mariah E. Haley and Sarah K. Haley, both of East Rochester; sister, Beth (Gerald) Mulholland; Brother, Stephen (Barbara) Haley; Brothers-in-Law Gary S. Mead and Joseph (Becky) Mead, and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William E. Haley, Jr. and Libby (Baugh) Haley; and Father and Mother-in-Law, Herbert S. and Mary (Garlock) Mead. Michael grew up in Penfield and was a 1976 graduate of Penfield High School. He graduated from Paul Smiths College as a Land Surveyor, a job he loved until his final days. His career began with the engineering firm of Seelye Stevenson Value Knecht, followed by forty years with LaBella Associates of Rochester as the Vice President of Land Surveying for Western NY. Mike was a man of faith, who was known for his laid back attitude, his big smile, his unwavering support of the "Bills", and his never ending love for family. Mike was happiest when he was outdoors, sitting by a fire, beer in hand, and music in the background. Mike loved the simplest things in life, never ran out of "Dad jokes", became a friend to everyone he met, and was the truest definition of a faithful servant. Mikes' final request was that his service be relaxed and filled with the music and people he loved. Mike was most comfortable when he was dressed casually or in Bills attire - the family encourages you to do the same as we gather to celebrate the life of a special man. Friends may call Saturday, March 23, from 10am - noon, at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc. 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation. We are forever grateful to Dr. Bernold and Dr. Brasacchio as well as their staff and to Ontario-Yates Hospice for their treatment and support. We are eternally grateful to the amazing staff and volunteers from House of John that provided exceptional care and support, not only to Mike, but to his family and friends the past weeks. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to House of John, Comfort Care Home, 14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs, NY 14432. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
